About una voce maine
Una Voce Maine Promotes and Supports the Traditional Latin Mass in Maine. We are a lay organization that is completely separate from the St. Gregory the Great Latin Mass Chaplaincy, which is a diocesan organization. Una Voce Maine does not provide any Latin Masses. Visit our Facebook page and/or sign up for emails to receive reminders of upcoming Holy Days of Obligation, and to stay updated on any changes in time or location of these Masses.
About the chaplaincy & the oratory
The St. Gregory the Great Latin Mass Chaplaincy was established by Bishop Richard J. Malone to offer a diocesan TLM, making use of the Missal of 1962 as provided by Pope Benedict XVI’s Motu Proprio “Summorum Pontificum”. Currently the Chaplaincy offers Masses at the Basilica in Lewiston.
“St. Joseph Oratory was formally established as a public juridic person of the Diocese of Portland on 31 July 2025, by means of a Decree issued by The Most Reverend James T. Ruggieri, Bishop of Portland. The Decree sets forth the Oratory’s canonical identity, mission, and pastoral purpose” [for the Latin Mass community of Portland].
Below are all Traditional Latin Masses offered in the Diocese of Portland (the only diocese in the state of Maine). Options in nearby dioceses are listed when no Masses are otherwise available.
